What We Believe
The Bible
We believe that all Scripture was given by divine inspiration of God. (2 Peter 1:21|2 Timothy 3:16) We believe the King James Version of the Bible is the preserved Word of God for us today.
Creation
We believe in the account of creation recorded in Gensis, that God created the heavens and the earth and all therein in six literal days. (Gen 1-2|Ex 20:11|John 1:3|Col 1:16-17)
God
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God. A Sovereign God that is infinite, eternal, self-existent, immutable, holy, just, omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent Spirit. The creator and supreme ruler of Heaven and earth. The Godhead being the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Deut 6:4|Job 11:7|Psa 90:2|Isa 40:28| Mal 3:6|Isa 6:3|Psa 89:14|Psa 147:5|Psa 62:11|John 4:24|Gen 1:1|Gen 1:26|Matt 3:16-17|John 14:16|John 15:26)
Satan
We believe that Satan is a real person, the author of sin and the cause of the fall of man; that he is the open and declared enemy of God and man; and that he shall be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job 1:6-7|Isa 14:12-17|Matt. 4:2-11|Rev 20:10)
The fall of man
We believe that man was created in innocence, under the law of his Maker; but fell from this holy and happy estate by disobedience. (Gen 3:1-7) The consequence of which all men are now sinners. All are now born in total depravity. (John 3:6|Rom 5:12)
The Way of Salvation
We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ. (Eph 2:8-9|Acts 16:31) The full benefits of Christ's obedience and death are received by faith alone and wholly apart from works. (Rom 3:28|Gal 2:16)
Justification
We believe that all who believe in Christ are justified in the sight of God(Acts 13:39); that justification includes the pardon of all sin(Acts 13:38), and the gift of eternal life on principles of righteousness (Romans 5:17,21); that it is bestowed, not in consideration of any works of righteousness we have done or shall do, but solely through faith in Christ(Rom 3:28)
Sanctification
We believe that sanctification belongs to all who have been regenerated and that is the work of grace and is both instantaneous and progressive. Instantaneous sanctification is that we have been separarted from the world of unbelievers and set apart to God. It is progressive in that it begun in regeneration and carried on in the life of every believer by the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. (I Cor 1:30|I Cor 6:11|I Thess 4:3-4|Rom 8:5|I John 2:29
Local Church
We believe that a New Testament Baptist Church, according to divine purpose and plan, is a visible, local, organized body; that it is composed of baptized believers associated together by a covenant of faith and fellowship in the Word of God, observing the ordinances instituted by Christ, governed by His laws. That it is independent with the absolute right of self-government. Christ founded His church in His earthly ministry and the perpetuity of our faith, our doctrines and practices, ordinances and ordinations has been effected through the Holy Spirit personally planting and preserving local Baptist Churches of like faith and order down through the centuries by a continual line of authority.
